Genie Group launched its flagship broadband comparison service Broadband Genie in January 2005.
Challenge
Neue Media were commissioned in 2006 to implement a complete site upgrade for Broadband Genie which would include Web 2.0 features such as Folksonomy tagging, Ajax drag and drop searches, XML/RSS feeds, fully integrated blogging, xhtml/CSS and a new server setup - all in keeping with the Genie brand and identity.
Solution
The new site was launched in late 2006, with ongoing support, winning the BBC Website of the Day on the Steve Wright show. It is now one of the UK’s top 10 sites on Google for the search term ‘Broadband’. The site experiences a huge monthly footfall of visitors with easy to use search facilities making the choice of finding a broadband supplier much easier.
